A painting is the expression of the heart and soul; it transmits cultural messages and the mysteries of the universe. It is born out of the desire of the artist to represent the forms of nature and man through the spirit of the artist as he perceives his world.

An artist not only captures the forms of nature, the artist’s spirit interacts with the spirit of the animals or men he is painting. His painting captures both the spirit and the message of its subject. One can see it in the expression, the eyes, and the gestalt of the painting. All good paintings communicate an emotion or message to the observer. It might be a message of love, harmony or tranquility; or it might be a message of danger, fury, or sadness. It could be a lesson, or something that all of us as humans can identify with, such as a desire to be loved.

The painting as art served ancient peoples as a medium to purify and refine the human spirit. The well studied and observant artist through his own meditation gives life to the animated states, feelings, and spiritual essence of the animals and humans he paints. The purification or refinement of the observer’s spirit occurs through the inspired artist’s ability to communicate the subject’s (man or animal): spirit, animation, feelings, thoughts, and the scene or stage of the subject, with all of its colors and form.

Guitar chords, (note groups played specifically on a guitar,) differ only from other types of chords by virtue of instrument; they’re simply a series of three or more notes played together. These notes don’t necessarily have to be played simultaneously, however.

Broken chords (also referred to as arpeggios) are three or more notes that aren’t played at the same time but closely enough to still be heard as a group or whole. And even the three-note rule is open to the occasional exception; some guitar chords consist of only two notes, but they still function as chords because they work diatonically in the same way that a major or minor chord would.

Guitar chords might very well be the most important element of guitar playing; after all, they’re the basis of what makes a song. Once again, George Lucas has thoroughly entertained and intrigued us with his use of combining history and adventure in Young Indy’s life in a serious and humorous way. We also enjoyed all the many extras that give us the background on the historical figures we encounter along with Indy. Fact and/or fiction — a very nice way to take on an adventure and possibly learn a little history as well.

I fell in love with the first volume of this DVD release - if only for the special features. (See my review under that title.) The re-edited stories on Volume one were confusing but the 10-½ hours (!) of NEW documentaries blew me away! George Lucas and Rick McCallum put their money where there mouth was (and Paramount went out on a limb by putting 10 DVDS in one set) and it shows. The documentaries are well researched and use the experts in the field.

I’m not a big War Years fan so Volume 2 was just okay for me but - again - high quality documentaries were attached.

Then came this volume. First, I headed to the documentaries - Jazz - Louis Armstrong - Ben Hecht - The Algonquin Round table. Each was better than the next with super footage in crisp quality prints and all the experts. Then I decided to watch the series episodes on the Blues and Hollywood. I’m as big music fan so I gave them a shot. WOW! Was I impressed! The Mystery of The Blues episode is loaded with great music - yes, full musical numbers. And each of the three women that Indy falls for is more gorgeous than the next. And how many films feature clarinetist Sidney Bechet as it’s lead character for 90 minutes? (You even get a bit of Harrison Ford at beginning and end!). The last episode on early Hollywood was great too with lots of cool stunt work and an over-the-top performance by the actor playing eccentric Director Eric von Stroheim.

I was really sorry to hear that the series ended with this episode. I’m hooked!

All the volumes belong in every school and public library as a learning tool. Each of the 25-35 minute docs is a new learning tool for adults as well as older children. I certainly give this volume FIVE STARS! And a BIG thanks to Lucas, McCallum and Paramount!

George Lucas should definitely produce more Young Indiana Jones episodes. The episodes of volume three are all terrific and represent a wide range of events, genre, and most important, allow further character development of Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones gets to teach some history while endearing himself to us as a good man with a keen mind and open heart facing his own life lessons. New episodes might finally explain how this trusting young man he created grew to be a cynical adult of the feature films. It’s this satisfied viewer’s hope that Sean Patrick Flanery finally gets the credit he deserves for his many exquisite performances throughout this series. The episode in Italy with the young Ernie Hemingway is as good a "buddy movie" as Hope and Crosby, Newman and Redford, or any other Hollywood team has ever created.

Rubbish. I got caught up in the hype for Indy 4, so I brought these dvds when they were on special. I watched about 30 mins for disc 1 before I turned it off. I had not seen the series before and it was not what I thought it would be.

In recent years there are many TV shows hitting the TV screen and most of them being of poor quality so much so that you consider lucky if you found one night a week with some decent shows. Though the overall quality of TV shows is average at best I feel that there are two shows out there right now that are very good and characterize what America is all about. Those shows are ?American Idol? and ?The Biggest Loser?.

There do exist flip side to these shows as well like in American Idol here are people on the air that are clearly there only to try and get on the air. It takes away from the people with the real talent. This is clearly a show that gives people the chance to realize a dream of theirs that they might never have had the chance to realize. Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, and Carrie Underwood are most likely the main stars to come from the show so far. Kelly Clarkson is a big celebrity, she is selling out arenas for her current tour. She sells many CD?s and she is played all over the airwaves. Same goes for Clay Aiken, except he is not on tour right now. Carrie is more part of the country scene but still popular for that genre of music.

For The Biggest Loser what is embarrassing to watch is that they put these people in front of America and virtually no clothes when getting weighed, though the positives outweigh the negatives in my opinion? This show assists a cluster of people learn how to change their lifestyles so they can become, and remain, healthy people. This how creates an impression on the audience how difficult it is to make the changes and what they go threw while trying to make the changes. Offices have ?Biggest Loser? contests; families begin losing weight together, etc? The impact is on society in general. Now the show is so popular that it is not just limited those 16 people on the show that season either. It has made an impression on many people across the country.

For sure these two shows can be correlated to America as from hard work and determination is what our country was built on and these shows also help to give people hope and they infuse people with inspiration to help them accomplish their dreams.

If you know a guitar player, or live with one like I do, you probably have heard of guitar pickups and wonder what the big deal is. 2. When taking pictures at the church, take note of where the priest and couple will be standing and position yourself where you can get the shots you need but will be as unobtrusive as possible.

3. When it is time for the reception, get there faster than everyone else. This will give you time to set up your equipment as well as your position. This is the time where you can take all of the fun shots!

4. When taking formal photos, have your assistant there to help you. Start out with the large groups and then go smaller removing family members so you can get a variety.

Howard Stern claims that Imus ripped him off, Well Howie YOUR WRONG!! because "1200 Hamburgers To Go" is Don Imus’ first comedy album which was released in 1972 presumably while Howard Stern was unsuccessfully trying to score with a girl in High School on Roosevelt Long Island.

This album has some classic Don Imus bits including the title track in which he calls a local hamburger restaurant claiming to be with military and wishes to order 1200 Hamburgers for the troops, Also Imus as the corrupt, slimy money grubbing Reverend Bill Sol Hargus from his ministry in Del Rio Texas, This is a laugh a minute of classic bits that made Imus famous.

If you’re a fan of the I-man, you’ll appreciate the historical nature of this CD. It does showcase some of his comedy bits from his early days, when he first moved from Cleveland to New York. Indeed, there are cuts from WGAR and WNBC included on the CD. These were outrageous back in the mid-70’s, but they seem dated today. Although I own the LP from those many years ago, I recently listened to the CD, and got a chuckle. It’s more of a museum piece for I-fans than it is a cutting-edge comedy album.

I would recommend, if you can find it, his CD entitled "This Honky’s Nuts," which is a club recording from the seventies; it’s very salty — the cover proclaims, "X-Rated," itself an anachronism — and he says some stuff on there that you would never be able to get away with in today’s PC culture, but I got huge belly-laughs listening to it. He termed his act "Imus in the Evening," and it’s not anything you would have heard on your father’s radio. Come to think of it, it was your radio it would not have been on, as your father was probably listening to Rambling with Gambling. In any case, it’s worth the Internet search to find this one.

Enjoy some of Imus’s classic spoofs from the old days. A brief glimpse of the Rev. Billy Sol makes the entire CD worth the price. This is Don from the old days. Quality is excellent.
