ANNUAL FORECASTS & FENGSHUI REMEDIES FOR 2006 : YEAR OF YANG RED FIRE DOG - FOR SNAKE SIGN

The ancient Chinese Astrology is not only fascinating but also quite accurate. It’s Zodiac is based on 12 signs, a cycle of 12 years and are named after 12 symbolic animals : Rat (or Mouse), Ox (or Buffalo or Bull or Cow), Tiger, Rabbit (or Hare or Cat), Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat (or Sheep or Ram), Monkey, Rooster (or Hen or Cock or Chicken or Phoenix), Dog and Pig (or Boar or Hog).

Your Chinese Astrological Zodiac Animal Sign is based on your Chinese Lunar Year of Birth. The Chinese New Year is movable and could start anywhere between 21st January and 20th February, depending upon the year.

If your Date of Birth falls into any of these below listed Chinese Lunar Years, then, because you are born in the Year of the Snake, you are symbolically identified as a “Snake” :

In Chinese Hsia Calender, 2006 is the 4703rd year and is also the third year of the New Fengshui Land Luck Period 8. The new Chinese Lunar Year is from 29.01.2006 to 17.02.2007. Here are the Annual Forecasts and suggested Fengshui & Crystal Remedies that you may need for the coming “New Year 2006 : Bing Xu, the Year of the Yang Red Fire Dog” :

From 04 Feb 1905 to 24 Jan 1906

From 23 Jan 1917 to 10 Feb 1918

From 10 Feb 1929 to 29 Jan 1930

From 27 Jan 1941 to 14 Feb 1942

From 14 Feb 1953 to 02 Feb 1954

From 06 Feb 1989 to 26 Jan 1990

From 24 Jan 2001 to 11 Feb 2002

CAREER :

An exceptionally fruitful year filled with plentiful opportunities. A satisfying career with a lot of privilege and comfort. Hard work will payoff immediately. You will easily outperform all others in the fray. Benefactors will lift you up every step of the way. Those who are employed can expect a promotion and pay rise. Some will switch to better jobs, even overseas posting. Those who are in business will expand their activities, some will start branches abroad. Those of you in brokering, agency business, production based incentives, teaching, PR, law and insurance will enjoy an extra blissful period. The first half of the year is better than the second half of the year, luckwise. But you will get guidance and help when you need. Avoid taking aggressive stances against colleagues and subordinates, as that could lead to some back-stabbing. One wrongly uttered work could collapse everything. Stubborness could lead to many failures. If you are in partnership, then guard against being cheated. To inspire, guide and protect, place the statue of the mighty Kuan Kung in the North West. Chances of a theft in workplace is quite high.

MONEY :

Good and stable money luck throughout the year will keep you happy. Avoid extravagent spending though. The excellent interpersonal relationship skills that you enjoy this year will bring in new money making opportunities. Make more and more investments. However, keep off mindless gambling and speculative business. You may have to foot some expensive medical bills. Some of you may be duped by unproven “insider tips” and lose money in the process.

HEALTH :

In general, good health. Elders should be careful of accidents, especially when taking the staircase. Keep yourself clean. Sleep and rest as much as you can. There could be some minor accidents when travelling.

LOVE :

Good love and relationship luck this year. Singles should seriously consider marrying. Married couples should watch their spouses for extramarital affairs. Unwanted relationships are on way. Self-control is a must. Resolve conflicts as and when they arise. If in doubt, display the icon of a Rooster in the South West of the bedroom. A recreational trip with family will be of much help.

Beneficial Crystal : Malachite, for 2006

Good Relationship with : Rooster & Ox, for 2006

Conflict with : Tiger, Snake & Pig, for 2006

Yin/Yang : Yin

A NOTE ABOUT REMEDIES : The above analysis has suggested some remedies/cures for reducing the impact of negative energy and has recommended certain enhancers for increasing and improving upon the beneficial energy. For the remedies/enhancers to be effective, they should be cleansed, energised, blessed and programmed not only for the particular individual/family but also for the specific purpose/problem. They should also be placed in the indicated location. Any or all of these remedies can be reused for the coming new years, the only thing is that some of them may have to be repositioned according to the specific new year.

Pirates Of The Caribbean

Dead men tell no tales…until now, that is. For almost forty years the pirates have stuck to their script, but after appearing in E-Ticket attractions at four Disney Theme Parks around the world and starring in a blockbuster hit film, the wildest crew that ever sacked the Spanish Main is ready for their own unique brand of Hollywood tell all.

Few shows have had the “leg” that Pirates does, sea or otherwise. Only a small number of films and theatrical shows are as beloved and as relevant forty years after their initial release. A pirate of the Caribbean is the quintessential Disney themed show. It is a triumph for both the group and the process of Walt Disney Imagineering, seamlessly melding story telling and technology to immerse the audience in an elaborate virtual reality decades before either the concept or the term was in vogue. It is a lavish showcase for the art of Audio-Animatronics, bringing the starts of the show to three dimensional life in that reality as never before. It’s “narrated” by one of the most memorable and hum worthy songs in Disney history.

One of the hallmarks of Disney storytelling has always been a starting attention to detail, and Pirates of the Caribbean is the premier example of that Imagineering design principle. The experience is sumptuous and simply too vast and complex to take in one voyage. The audience sees, hears, smells or feels something new every time they ride on the attraction and that keeps them coming back again and again.

Walt Disney Imagineering, both the practice and the practitioners, was born of the film industry, and Pirates of the Caribbean itself was inspired in part by such legendary Hollywood epics as Captain Blood and Disney’s own Treasure Island. So it should come as no surprise that this timeless theme park adventure would prove just as worthy of cinematic adaptation as any classic novel, Broadway musical, TV show, or even comic book.

Yeaf ZheWei is a Pirate of the Caribbean fanatic. He simply loves the shows and tries to catch all the episode. At Garskin he works on Online Pirate of the Caribbean laptop skin. You can see his works at garskin.com/?part=8d3b3799″ target=”_blank garskin.com

Acting - Audition Tips

In this article we’re going to go over some basic things that one should do before, during and after the big audition for a part.

The fact is, auditions are a nerve wracking experience for actors. They’d rather have their eyebrows plucked. Unfortunately, they’re an essential part of being an actor. So by following these steps you’ll have the best chance of getting the part.

In getting the audition in the first place, you or your agent are going to have to submit a photo and resume to the casting director. Sometimes you’ll get an open call where anybody can come down but these are the exception, not the rule. Most auditions are by invitation only.

If you are called for an audition you will usually be given what are called “sides” or a few pages of a script that you will have to read at the audition. In theater you may also be required to have some kind of monologue ready.

The first thing to do is read the script and prepare for the part. Find out everything you can about the character you’re going to be playing. The lines aren’t important yet. Just commit your focus to the character. How old, where from, how the character feels about other characters in the story. Only after you know everything you need to know about the character do you start learning your lines. Use whatever method you feel most comfortable with. You won’t be required to know the whole script at the audition but be prepared.

Before you go to the audition, dress for the part. Wear clothes that fit the character and the story. If you’re playing a cowboy don’t get dressed up in a business suit. You don’t have to go out and rent spurs but wear clothes that suggest the role. Jeans and boots for this role will do fine.

Warm up for the audition just like a pitcher warms up before a ball game. Do some stretches and vocal exercises. Go over your lines. Don’t go in there cold. It’s normal to be nervous but in preparing yourself you won’t be as nervous and you’ll be able to relax a bit.

When you get to the audition, sign in. You may have to wait for others to read for the same part. Be patient. Avoid talking with the other actors. They will only try to distract you. Focus on what you came there to do.

When actually reading for the casting director, be prepared for anything. Some may sit and chat with you a few minutes and others will just get right down to business. Forget that this is an audition. Do the performance as if you were actually in the production. You only get one chance to make a first impression. Make the director believe that you ARE the character. They want you to be the best person for the role because that means their job is completed.

There are some things not to do when reading for the casting director. Don’t suck up. A sincere compliment is fine but a casting director will know when you’re just grovelling. Aside from shaking his hand when you enter, never touch the casting director. Finally, don’t trash the office. Some hyperactive actors will actually do this in the heat of performing a physical scene. This is a definite way NOT to get the part.

After you’re done with your reading the director will let you know when they’ll get back to you. Leave it at that. Don’t make a scene. Just be professional and leave.

If the casting director likes your performance you will be asked to come back. At this time there will be fewer people auditioning and more people watching your performance. Maybe some producers, directors and writers. Wear the same clothes that you wore to the first audition and put in the same performance. Don’t second guess yourself. If they called you back then they liked what they saw the first time. Don’t mess with success.

Keep records of each audition. Make notes of what things you did and what you think you can do better the next time. If something went very well, make a note of what it was.

The more auditions you do the better you will get at them.

Discover Piano Map to Keyboard Treasure - And Read It!

To discover keyboard treasure and achieve your musical potential, imagine a globe of the earth. Visualize the northern hemisphere, the southern hemisphere, and the equator. Now visualize the city or town you live in. Your town is one location on the globe. Now visualize the grand staff of the piano. There is a top staff for the high notes, a bottom staff for the low notes, and in between the two staves is some space where you’ll find a note with a short line through it – Middle C.

Middle C is the equator of piano land. Can you guess where the North Pole of Piano Land is? Yep – the highest note on the piano keyboard. And the South Pole is the lowest note on the piano. Of course there are a lot of C’s on a full size piano (8 to be exact), but only one of those is Middle C. Just as your home town is one location on the globe, each line or space on the piano Grand Staff is one specific location, or key on the piano. So the Grand Staff is truly a map of the piano.

To discover your keyboard treasure, learn to visualize the keyboard as you are learning to read notes. If you’re not doing this, you’re wasting your time. You may know the name of a note, but if you can’t find it on the piano it won’t do you any good. Practice visualizing the piano when you play by keeping your eyes on the music instead of looking down at your hands, once you have your hand position. In this way you’ll be forced to develop a piano keyboard in your imagination.

Over time, as you learn to play in different hand positions and keys signatures, you’ll be drawing the piano keyboard in your mind. Once you are able to visualize the keyboard, you’ll have this map forever. And you can use it to discover all kinds of keyboard treasure to achieve your musical potential. Such as playing scales and chords, memorizing music, and learning music theory for piano composition. That’s a lot of musical treasure waiting for you. Start discovering it today by keeping your eyes on the piano map. And I promise you’ll never lose your way in Piano Land!

Kurt Russell - An American Original

He was born 17 March 1951 in Springfield, Massachusetts. His parents are Louise Crain and Bing Russell. The senior Mr. Russell was a character actor who had a recurring role as a deputy on the long - running Western television series “Bonanza”. He (Bing) had been a professional baseball player but changed his career to acting, which took the family to California.

Kurt grew up in Thousand Oaks, California, not necessarily your typical Hollywood kid. He had a keen interest in baseball and wanted to play professionally as his father had before him. But in 1961, his dad heard about a part in a film called “It Happened at the World’s Fair”. The lead male star in the movie was Elvis Presley. Kurt’s part was that of a young boy who kicked him in the shin. He did not get billing for that part. It wasn’t much more than a glorified extra role. However, this was the beginning of his acting career.

He went on to do some bit parts on television. In 1963, he was cast as the lead in a short - lived television series called “The Travels of Jamie McPheeters”. This was followed by more character parts on numerous other TV shows. This, in turn, led to a contract with Walt Disney. The ten-year contract encompassed such films as “The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes” (1969), “The Barefoot Executive” (1971) and “The Strongest Man in the World” (1975). Once his contract with Disney expired, he went back to appearing in character roles on television. In 1975, he did a made-for-TV movie called “The Deadly Tower”. The story was based on a true event which occurred at the University of Texas in 1966. Then in 1979 he starred in another TV movie titled “Elvis”. He was nominated for an Emmy for his quasi-biographical role in that film.

Although he took time out from his acting career to make a serious attempt to become a pro baseball player with the California Angels, that was cut short by a rotator cuff injury in 1973. So he returned to acting full-time.

In 1981, he teamed up with producer/writer/director John Carpenter for the classic cult film “Escape From New York”. The film became a big hit with fans of the genre and continues to be favored by the same. He reprised his role of “Snake Plissken” in 1996 with the sequel, “Escape From L.A”. He and Mr. Carpenter have collaborated on a total of five movies to date. Mr. Russell co-produced, co-wrote and/or starred in all five.

He met his lifemate, Goldie Hawn, while filming “Swing Shift” in 1984. They also co-starred in the movie “Overboard” in 1987. They have been together since, having one child together, one child from Kurt’s first marriage to Season Hubley and the two children from Ms. Hawn’s marriage to Bill Hudson. Ms. Hawn’s daughter, Kate Hudson, considers Mr. Russell to be her dad. Their extended family seems to work quite well.

Among his film credits is that of a supporting role in the critically acclaimed movie “Silkwood”, which he did in 1983. Meryl Streep and Cher were the co-stars in the film. Mr. Russell was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film and won a Golden Globe Award for his role.

In 1986, he again teamed up with John Carpenter to do “Big Trouble in Little China”. This was a spoof on martial arts movies of the times and reminded Hollywood and his fans, of his ability to do comedic roles.

Other notable movies which he did include:

1988 - Tequila Sunrise, co-starring Mel Gibson 1989 - Tango and Cash, co-starring Sylvester Stallone 1993 - Tombstone, in which he played Wyatt Earp 1994 - Stargate, co-starring James Spader 1996 - Executive Decision, also starring Sylvester Stallone 2001 - 3000 Miles to Graceland, with Kevin Costner 2002 - Dark Blue, he plays a dirty cop 2004 - Miracle, based on the true story of Olympic coach Herb Brooks 2006 - Poseidon, a remake of 1972’s “Poseidon Adventure”

While probably not one of the most acclaimed actors of our times, Kurt Russell has the distinction of being one of the few who successfully segued from being a child actor to continuing an acting career which spans a little over four decades. His credits range from bit parts to doing stunts, directing, producing, writing and starring in a very diverse cross of roles. He’s a versatile person who has contributed to both the film and television industries.

While not receiving screen credit for it, Russell did the voice of Elvis Presley in the 1994 blockbuster, “Forrest Gump”. He’s also been responsible for helping to launch the film industry careers of several budding actors, writers, producers and directors.

Taking Care of Your Soul Mate: Useful Piano Care Tips

Your piano is your soul mate. Once you start playing it, you two are hopelessly entwined, enjoying a world of your own, mindless of what goes on outside your world. It is therefore absolutely important that you take care of your piano properly.

Taking care of your piano does not only entail having it tuned up every two to five years. It would also appreciate a daily maintenance from the owner himself. What good would it do to a piano if it would just be left at one corner of the house, untouched for sometime? Absolutely nothing, and it would just gather dust and rust.

One of the best ways to maintain its good condition is to play it often. Just like a human being, this piece of entertainment equipment needs exercise so as not to expire soon. Through regular playing, you are not only practicing to become a better pianist, you can also play and check if your piano is still in perfect tune.

It feels great to let your fingers glide over smooth and shiny ivory keyboards. It can’t be helped though, especially when you have little kids at home, to have little sticky hands pounding on the keys from time to time, unless you have strict off-limits rule on your piano. So, to keep your keyboard clean, shiny and non-sticky, try wiping a lemon or lemon-salt paste over the keys and then rinse with clean, wet cloth then polish with dry cloth.

Check out some of the things you must do in cleaning and taking care of your piano:

The Keys:

It is recommended to clean the keys with a light soap solution preferably that of Ivory brand

The Cabinet:

Some pianos, especially those with high-gloss finish should be handled with utmost care. Use a new soft cloth to wipe the cabinet. Do not use old towel converted into rags as the rough fabric can scratch the finishing. And the small particles, even dust can leave permanent graze over the glossy cover. To clean, wipe a damp rag over a small portion and then immediately wipe the area with dry cloth. The wet portion must not be left wet for more than a minute. Repeat process until the entire cabinet is cleaned.

To polish the cabinet, it is best to use piano polish. Furniture paste wax will do as well. An old upright piano with an old wood finish may be cleaned with one of those new orange spray cleaner/polisher. Do not use the usual aerosol cleaner on a piano as it contains alcohol that will react with the finishing or tarnish the varnish or lacquer paint on your piano surface. You can buy specially designed piano polisher and polishing cloth as well in most piano stores.

The piano should be positioned by the wall of the home and not along a concrete block or floor as they can cause unstable temperature due to dampness. Constant changing of temperature can cause your piano to go out of tune. But the foremost cause of the change in tune is the change in humidity.

Having a piano at home is achieving a lot of goals. Other than it being an attraction, most of the time, visitors tend to assume that when a homeowner has a piano in his home he is not only musically inclined but also knows how to belong in the elite society. It is because a piano is still seen as a classical and very important musical instrument.

The writer, Ismael D. Tabije, runs the website pianos.e-mart4all.com pianos.e-mart4all.com that markets a wide choice of high-quality digital pianos and pianos.e-mart4all.com electronic keyboards at the lowest prices in the online market. Brands sold include Casio, Yamaha, Korg, Kurzweil and Roland. The website also features interesting piano articles about piano humor, trivia, myths and facts and even piano lessons and instructions.

Texas Hold’em Poker for Newbies

If you are new to poker totally, then you will want to try your hand at Texas Hold’em Poker first. It is one of the easiest poker games to learn for beginning players, unlike seven card stud or Omaha poker. In fact, Texas Hold’em can be learned in just a few minutes. Within a few hours, you could almost be playing like a professional!

With Texas Hold’em Poker, expect the betting arrangement to fluctuate. Most of the time there are two players who will start the game off with an initial amount to kick off the game. Other times, antes are used. A regular playing card deck is used and the dealer gives each player two cards face down. These are referred to as your hole cards in Texas Hold’em Poker.

Next is a round of betting. Keep in mind that in Texas Hold’em Poker, there is also folding, raising or calling of card hands. And once the betting ends, the dealer will get rid of the top deck card to stop cheating. After that, the dealer in Texas Hold’em Poker will place three cards face up on the table. This is called a flop and the cards can be used by anyone in conjunction with their hole cards.

There is another round of betting in Texas Hold’em Poker followed by the turn card. This is when the dealer flips another card. A final betting round happens and usually bets can grow quickly. The last thing in Texas Hold’em is when the dealer turns up the last card face up. This maneuver is called the “river.” Players can use their hole cards or the five cards they already have to create a poker hand. The last round of betting ensues in Texas Hold’em Poker. Afterwards, everyone shows their card hands. The player with the best poker hand wins the jackpot!

Effective Casino Marketing Makes All The Difference

The gaming industry can really bring prosperity to a community. Creative and consistant casino marketing have really improved the commercial viability and way of life of the American Indian Reservation that I live in. My reservation is one of the oldest reservations that was established in the state, and it also used to be the poorest. Living conditions used to terrible and tribe members have been suffering in poverty until they built the Indian casino on the southern end of our reservation.

During its initial years that casino was just a simple steel building that had a restaurant area, a few blackjack tables and only one hundred slot machines were available. Then the management hired a casino marketing company to improve the business. The company began by creating innovative advertising campaigns for radio, television, and print. They also developed promotions and rewards cards to attract and maintain the customers.

The results of the casino marketing strategy were remarkable, the casino now has several hundred tables for a variety of popular casino card games, thousands of slot machines, four plush restaurants, and a grand hotel with more then 500 beautiful rooms. A conference and event center that host many concerts each year was also added. Because of the success of the casino they have opened another one about 45 miles away. This one is even bigger with more hotel rooms and a golf course. The casino marketing company made the golf, fishing, and gambling packages successful through bold and creative strategies.
