Rogue Casinos - Get Their Hands Off Your Money!

Rogue online casinos seem to be everywhere! But what are they?

“Rogue casino” is a term describing an online casino that for whatever reason does not conform to normal, proper online casino behavior.

A good and frequent example is an online casino not paying out the money you won or deposited. The problem starts when you request a withdrawal. Then any excuse under the sun is given for them not being able to fulfil your request.

The usual excuse is that they do not have your withdrawal details, even though you have sent it to them dozens of times. Other excuses include that they have “administrative” or “system” problems or that they have already sent out the cheque and it was probably lost in the post.

I have even heard the excuse that they recently had to pay out a big jackpot, which impacted their cash flow and therefore they will only be able to honour the withdrawal request at the end of the month! Unbelievable! Do you really want to play at a casino (online or offline) that has cash flow problems?

Now sometimes even good casinos can encounter some of the problems mentioned above. The telling difference is how they have dealt with it. They correct it quickly and with a minimum of fuss.

Believe it or not, there are hundreds of these rogue casinos on the internet today. And they seem to be multiplying.

What does this mean for you, the casino visitor?

Well, simply that you *have* to do your research before choosing an online casino. After all, you would not deposit your money at a bank before checking out the bank first.

So how do you find out if an online casino is reputable?

*1. Check out the casino’s website. Read all of it, especially the terms and conditions. You do not want to be surprised later with an obscure condition about paying out!

Remember, if the website appears unprofessional, it is usually a good indication that the company behind it is as well.

*2. Contact the casino. Email their customer support with a query or problem. Good casinos answer back within 24 hours and will bend over backwards to solve your problem.

These are the casinos you want to play at. At least now you know that when you have a real problem, it will be resolved quickly and without any hitches.

*3. Ask people. If you know anybody that plays at a casino you are interested in, ask them about it!

For instance, the casinos listed on 1stopcasinobonuses.com are casinos offering excellent casino bonuses, all of them with good reputations. There are also many other websites or forums where you can check up or ask people about other casinos.

The better casinos know that the best type of marketing is by word of mouth. Therefore they do everything in their power to make sure that all their visitors enjoy a good experience at the casino.

To you and your success!

Ode to a Funeral Director

Bring your Kin to Ernie’s place. He’ll bury the stiff with style and grace. Or if you prefer, he’ll torch it in its bier. Either way he’ll ease your grief, and you’ll stand up and cheer.

Where will my remains go after my spirit leaves my body and who will get my Earthly possessions?
Then too, will I ever discover who are truly my friends?

Will there be flowers? How many hours will I be on display, while the children of my relatives run around and play? Will there be Heavenly music, or will my final exit be nothing more than sick?

As I look down from the sky; no doubt, the sight of me will cause someone to cry.
Doctors, lawyers, bill collectors and my treasured relatives will surely shed a tear, because each and every one of them will get nothing ’cause I’m no longer here.

I’ll wish them well and give them my love; as I have for most of my life.
A white dove freed from its cage will fly into the sky; as their jaws drop and their eyes become wide from the sight of me within my bier.

I’ll be laying face down with my bare bottom exposed for all to see. Yes, I believe that will be my final deed. That surely is one thing that I would like to see, and also to determine the extent of their greed.

Those who seek a part of my Estate will have to comply with my last request. Will they kiss what I have exposed, or will they simply turn up their nose?

Only God knows the answer to that question, but if they did, someone will hear my cheer.

Greece Casinos

Greece is one of Europe’s top tourist destinations; most foreign visitors come for the sunshine and beaches, as well as the heritage and history of Athens, Delphi, and Mycenae. There is, however, much more to the country than simply the Greek islands and classical ruins. Greece is developing a reputation as one of Europe’s most attractive destinations for travelers seeking vibrant nightlife and entertainment, and Greece casinos are an important part of this appeal. Like many other European countries, Greece has a mixture of long-established casinos and newer ventures, which together offer a healthy choice of options to visitors and native Greeks alike.

Up until the mid 1990’s, Greece casinos were all state-owned businesses, but this has changed in recent years, and several private companies now operate casinos in the country. Unlike some other countries, Greece casinos are not centered in the capital; on the contrary, most of the casinos in Greece are spread throughout the rest of the country, as well as on the larger islands. There is a lower age limit of 23 on visitors to Greek casinos, and an entry fee is normally charged at the door.

The largest Greece casino is situated in the Hyatt Regency in Thessaloniki, which is Greece’s second city, in the north of the country. This casino has some 77 tables and nearly a thousand slot machines on the floor, making it one of the biggest casinos in Europe. There are also casinos in Xanthi and the popular resort of Porto Carras, although these are not on the same scale as the Hyatt Regency Casino. In addition, there is a very large casino in Loutraki, a spa town in southern Greece. Loutraki is very popular with the Greeks, especially the Athenians seeking to escape the city during the hot summer months, and particularly in August, when many residents flee the city in search of tranquility. This casino, the Club Hotel Loutraki, is on a similar scale to the Hyatt in Thessaloniki, and both are extremely busy and popular venues.

There are also casinos on some of the larger islands, Corfu in the north, Rhodes in the east, and Syros, which is nearer Athens. These casinos are extremely popular with foreign tourists, for obvious reasons. Of all the Greece casinos, the closest to Athens is the Mont Parnes casino, which has a spectacular setting on a mountain north of the city, offering panoramic views over the entire Athens area. For this alone, the Mont Parnes casino is a must-see addition to any trip to the Greek capital.

Discover How Hollywood Met the American Old West in Real Life

HOW THE OLD WEST HAS BEEN DEFINED

People refer to the ‘Old West’ as the ‘Wild West’ or simply the
‘West’.

No matter how what they might call it, many look upon the
American Old West as a wild and dangerous place that existed
in the last half of the 1800’s in the American Frontier, west
of the Mississippi River in the United States.

Even Europeans who dislike or fear George W. Bush are quick to
call him a “cowboy”, in a derogatory manner, as if his being from
Texas automatically brands him as being like the outlaw cowboys
that died at the O.K. Corral on October 26 1881, in Tombstone,
Arizona Territory.

Many other people from around the world romanticize the American
Old West. They conjure images of cowboys, indians, guns, cattle,
buffalo, trains and the simple life when they imagine the world
of the Old West.

Television, radio shows, and movies have all contributed to
the romanticism of America’s Old West. Television brought us
“Gunsmoke” and “Bonanza”. Movies have come through time to
further emphasize people’s romantic ideas of the Old West. Movies
that come to mind include “Far and Away” in 1992, “True Grit” in
1969, “Two Mules for Sister Sara” in 1970, “Dances With Wolves”
in 1990, and “Tombstone” in 1993. And then there were my two
favorite westerns of all-time, “Support Your Local Sheriff” and
“Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” which both came out in 1969.

(People love their westerns, and the Internet Movie Database
gave them the chance to rate their favorite western movies here:

PEOPLE STILL THINK THE WEST IS ABOUT THE COWBOYS AND INDIANS

Even in today’s communication age, some people still believe
that Oklahoma and Texas exist as it did in the 1890’s. Back in
the late 1980’s, I had travelled to Florida. While there, someone
asked me where I was from. When I said Oklahoma, they had this
puzzled look come across their face.

After a moment or two, this individual seemed to have made the
connection they were looking for. She asked me, “So, how did you
get to Florida?”

I was confused. I said, “Well, I drove.”

She responded, “Oh, so you stopped along the way and bought
a car?”

I said, “No. I had the car before I left.”

I could see a “deer in the headlights” moment, and then I heard
her soon-to-be-famous words, “I thought everyone in Oklahoma rode
on horses and in wagons. What about the indians? Do you all still
have problems with the indians?”

True story. No kidding. It is hard to believe, I know. I would
not have believed it myself if I had not been there to hear it.

Yes, some people believe that we still live as we did 100 years
ago.

GOING WEST

Prior to 1848, the people who lived in the American Old West
were primarily the military men and lawmen, mountain men who
often worked as trappers and/or traders, the native American
population, cattle ranchers and their hands, and farmers.

Then on January 24, 1848, the news of James Marshall’s “Gold!”
erupted from Sutter’s Mill, California. Suddenly, everyone
wanted to go west.

“Go West Young Man!” was the cry that reverberated around the
globe. “Thus began one of the largest human migrations in history
as a half-million people from around the world descended upon
California in search of instant wealth.”

THE HISTORICAL STORY OF INDIAN TERRITORY

Indian Territory, also known as I.T., was established in 1830.
The intent of the establishment of the Indian Territory was to
have a place in which to relocate the Eastern Native American
Tribes. In its early days, Indian Territory actually covered
most of modern-day Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska.

Indian Territory was not a territory by the legal established
definition of a territory for several more decades. In the
beginning, there was no government or laws governing Indian
Territory. It was simply the place that was set aside to be
occupied by the Native American tribes.

In 1854, the American government decided that they needed to
increase the lands that could be used by their growing
population. So, at this juncture, they reduced the overall size
of Indian Territory to cover most of what is now Oklahoma.

During the Civil War, the Five Civilized Tribes who owned most
of the land comprising Indian Territory, gambled their lot on
the southern Confederate States. When the South lost, the Five
Civilized Tribes lost more of their lands under the new treaties
that had to be negotiated with the victors in Washington, D.C.

Beginning with the Osage Reservation Act of 1872, the federal
government began to treat Indian Territory more as a legally
defined “territory”.

In 1889, the federal government finally established a federal
court for the management of the Indian Territories. And then on
April 22nd 1889, the “Unassigned Lands” of central Oklahoma were
opened to white settlement. 50,000 people, who were called
“Boomers”, settled the “Unassigned Lands” that day.

Then in May of 1990, Indian Territory was divided into Oklahoma
Territory and Indian Territory. Over the next several years,
various “land runs” permitted the various sections of Oklahoma
Territory to be settled.

(For more information about the multitude of “land runs”, check
out this timeline: marti.rootsweb.com/land/oklands.html )

THE CHEROKEE OUTLET LAND RUN OF 1893

The famous opening of the Cherokee Outlet that was the backset
for the movie “Far and Away”, took place on September 16, 1893.

When the Cherokee Outlet was opened, there were 7 original
counties: O, L, K, P, Q, M and N. It was mandated by law that
the settlers of each county would select the new county name
after the run. The names selected were Garfield, Grant, Kay,
Noble, Pawnee, Woods and Woodward.

THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE 101 RANCH IN NORTHERN OKLAHOMA

Originally bound for California, Colonel George W. Miller found
himself often sidetracked into various business ventures on his
trek west.

In 1893, Colonel Miller founded his 101 Ranch in northcentral
Oklahoma near present day Marland, Oklahoma, south and west of
Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Colonel Miller became good friends with Chief White Eagle, the
chief of the Ponca Nation. The Ponca Nation is situated to the
south of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and just east of the 101 Ranch
site.

In 1903, Col. George Miller died and the ranch was taken over
by his three sons.

At its height, the 101 Ranch which was located in Kay and Noble
counties in the Oklahoma Territory was comprised of a full
110,000 acres. It became the real nexus between the American Old
West and the world-famous 101 Wild West Show, which featured
cowboys and indians in the flesh and show dates around the world
from 1905 to 1931. Even the shows at the ranch were noted to
have attracted more than 65,000 spectators at various times.

HOLLYWOOD MEETS THE WILD WEST

Among the many notable accomplishments attributed to the
Miller’s and their 101 Ranch Wild West Show, was their role
in the revitalization of the western genre in Hollywood.

The first movie ever made of the western genre was “The Great
Train Robbery” in 1903. By the end of the decade, most believed
that the western was dead.

In 1911, the Miller’s signed a contract with the New York Motion
Picture Company and its’ subsidiary studio, the Bison Company.

The 101 Ranch served as the backdrop for several Hollywood films,
and the stars of the 101 Wild West Show staffed hundreds of early
westerns. More than 100 cowboys, cowgirls and indians from the
101 Ranch Wild West Show participated in various Bison Company
westerns.

Even the great Will Rogers did a short stint with the 101 Wild
West Show, before moving to Hollywood to become world-famous.
Will Rogers is just one of the many famous names that came
through the 101 show on their rise to stardom. Many of the
names of 101 performers became so famous in their day that you
may even recognize them today: Bill Pickett, Tom Mix and many
others.

The World Is Full Of Great Guitar Solos

Do you have a favourite guitar solo? You know, one that sends a cold chill down the back of your neck? One, that for some unknown reason seems to fit the song so perfectly that you couldn’t imagine any other guitar solo being played in that song? I bet you have a few you could mention. I’m going to list five all time classic solos that influenced me when I was starting out. See what you think.

Something by George Harrison - A beautiful solo for a beautiful song. I heard a story that the final solo used on the Abbey Road album was actually a mix of a few solos George had recorded. There is no doubting that he excelled himself on this song. It just goes to show that sometimes the simplest of licks will suffice. Thanks for the memories George….

All Right Now by Paul Kossoff - An absolute classic rock solo!!. A composition within itself you might say. This solo features no right hand tapping, no full throttle speed licks and no wammy bar heroics. Instead we have a brilliantly constructed solo with a definite beginning, middle and end. Check out the way Paul gently pulls the listener in by using a couple of licks to introduce the solo and then builds up to a fantastic ending. This solo is a prime example of how to play a great rock solo.

All Along The Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix - Jimi plays Dylan. This is probably one of my all time favourites. This is one of those solos that I really do not want to analyse. I just want to sit back, listen and enjoy. To be honest, there are many of Jimi solos I could have included in this but, to me, this one is simply outstanding. It’s one I never, ever tire of listening to. Each and every time it just blows me away. The whole feeling of this track is just amazing.

Cliffs Of Dover by Eric Johnson - This is a prime example of great technique being mixed with a great feel for the music being played. As with Jimi, there are many Eric Johnson tracks I could have chosen. I decided on this one because it was the first thing I ever heard Eric Johnson play. Back in the mid to late 80’s Guitar Player magazine included it as a freebie flexidisc in one of its issues. I loved it then and I love it now. If you haven’t heard this track check it out as soon as you can.

I’m Goin’ Home by Alvin Lee - A song by helicopter! This is just plain old rock n’ roll from the wonderful Alvin Lee. I’ve chosen this one because it was a big favourite of mine when I was first starting to play. It is raw, exciting, and it makes you want to play. I remember being knocked out by the sheer speed of Alvin’s fingers when I first heard this one. A gem from one of the greats.

Obviously there are many great solos I have had to miss from this list. Who could forget, Django Reinhardt’s Nuages, Larry Carlton’s Kid Charlemagne, Elliott Randall’s Reeling In The Years, Brian May’s Bohemian Rhapsody, Eddie Van Halen’s Beat it, Albert Lee’s Country Boy, Bert Jansch’s Angie, David Gilmour’s Comfortably Numb, Jimmy Page’s Stairway To Heaven, Steve Vai’s For The Love Of God, Eric Clapton’s Sunshine Of Your Love, Brian Setzer’s I Won’t Stand In Your Way, Mason Williams’ Classical Gas, Jimi’s Little Wing, Chet Atkins’ Yakety Axe, Scotty Moore’s That’s All Right Mama…..etc…etc….etc…. The list goes on and on.

The five I chose were important to me in my early years as a player. If compiling the same list next week, I might come up with something completely different. My tastes have changed over the years and I am sure they will continue to do so.

What five guitar solos would you list and why?

Online Roulette - A Brief History

The term “Roulette” is French and in essence it means “small wheel”. While it may seem that because “Roulette” is a French word that the game itself comes from France, but this is not necessarily true. There are a number of differing theories ranging from the game originating in China, as well as ancient Rome. Many who believe the game originated in China, think that Dominican Monks that were trading with the Chinese brought the game back to mainland Europe. The Roman theory is based on accounts that Romans would tip their chariot wheels and spin them as a form of entertainment.

A slightly more popular theory is that the French scientist Blaise Pascal, credited with the probability theory, invented the roulette wheel. Apparently, it was the by-product of one of his many experiments.

Eventually, in 1842, the French brothers Louis and Francois Blanc invented the roulette game we know today. They invented the “0” version used by most countries in the world. A legend about Francois Blanc, is that he apparently sold his soul to the devil in order to obtain the secret of roulette. Conspiracy-theorists validate this story by the fact that all the numbers on a roulette wheel added up to “666”.

Even though the Blanc brothers’ game was a resounding success, gambling was still illegal in France so it was introduced in Hamburg instead. Gambling was eventually banned in Germany too, however, but then The Prince of Monaco invited Louis to operate his Monte Carlo casino and reacquaint the people with the game of roulette.

When brought over to America, the “0” version of roulette was abandoned in favour of the “00” version of roulette. Today, in order to distinguish between these two variations, the “00” version is called the American Wheel whilst the “0” version the European Wheel. The “00” version has 38 numbers whilst the “0” version only has 37 but, despite their differences, both are extremely popular the world over…Read More: vegas-casino-secrets.com/online-roulette.html Online Roulette – A Brief History

Some Fun with Antiquated Hat Terms - Part Four - 1900 - 1944

I have uncovered some obscure and unusual words while looking back at the history of hats and headdress. Having recently finished reading THE PROFESSOR AND THE MADMAN (by Simon Winchester, HarperCollins 1998) about the making of the Oxford English Dictionary, I thought it might be fun to explore the definitions and etymology of some of these ancient terms, most of which have all but disappeared from modern use. [You’ll find parts one through three at ezinearticles.com and the HAT BLOG: Everything Hats.]

In the first parts of this project, I indicated that to qualify for inclusion in the list, the word “must show up with a squiggly red line at Microsoft Word’s ‘spell check’ tool.” Now however, as these terms enter 20th Century usage, they are, of course, less obscure. For these last few entries, I have changed the requirements for making the list. Certainly, more readers will know the terms below than was the case in parts one through three. Here are the last few terms – not seen everyday, but also not so lost to antiquity that “spell check” was stumped. I hope you’ve enjoyed this series.

Gab Session - Pirates Go Undefeated

Mets vs. Pirates. Sounds like a stellar NLCS, doesn’t it?

After all, those two National League clubs were the first to sweep a regular-season series. The Mets went to St. Louis and took down the defending World Series champs in three straight, while the Pirates went to Enron, er, Minutemaid down in Houston, and squeaked three past the Astros.

I mean, it’s obvious, isn’t it? The Mets won 97 games last year, crushed the Dodgers, and got to within a few outs of the World Series. The Pirates won 67 games in ‘06 (topping the Cubs by one), their 14th consecutive losing season. They lost 18 of their first 23 games last year, and succeeded in making the Colorado Rockies look sexy.

The Mets have David Wright, Jose Reyes, Carlos Beltran, Lastings Milledge and a host of exciting talent. The Pirates have Jason Bay.

The Mets made the World Series in 2000, completely re-made their lineup, and look like the surest thing around to be in the ‘07 Fall Classic. The Pirates were last in the World Series late in the Carter Administration. Hey, I said late in the Carter Administration.

Billy Wagner vs. Salomon Torres.

Tom Glavine vs. Zach Duke.

Moises Alou vs. Xavier Nady.

Mike Pelfrey vs. Tony Armas Jr.

And who doesn’t think Jack Wilson could take Jose Reyes in a footrace? (Put your hand down, America.)

Yessir, it’s time. Mets/Pirates. Who knows, maybe they’ll each be undefeated when they clash. 162-0 vs. 162-0.

Hey, you all laughed at me when I told you the Celtics would be historically bad this year, right?

Florida had to have been a pretty heavy favorite for the bettors in the national title game of college hoops. Did the books take a bath on that game?

BoDog Bookmakers, BoDog.com: The Florida spread was the popular choice amongst the betting public; however, the books kept themselves in a relatively safe position by offering very good value on the Ohio State moneyline.

The paint is just dry on this back-to-back, but I wonder if you have early thoughts on who’ll be in the Final Four next season?

BDB, BoDog.com: Next year’s Final Four will have a lot to do with what happens in the next month. If Greg Oden enjoys school as much as he says he does and returns for his sophomore year, it will be impossible to keep Ohio State out of any 2008 Final Four predictions. If Arron Afflalo remains with UCLA, the Bruins can pencil in a third straight Final Four appearance. Kansas looks to be in the best position to keep their roster intact after the NBA loots the college ranks of the best talent. I think the team to watch will be USC. O.J. Mayo has a volatile personality, but he also has sublime talent. If Tim Floyd can get Mayo to gel with the rest of the talented Trojans starters, this team could be the 2008 national champions.

Are you looking forward to the Masters this weekend? Does it make sense to bet on anyone but Tiger?

BDB, BoDog.com: In all honesty, are you willing to bet against Tiger? Looking at the action Bodog.com has received so far. The public believes this is Tiger’s tournament to lose.

Do you have wager on a baseball team’s season that you particularly like? A team you think could get to the World Series, or win it, and whose odds are longer than you think they should be?

BDB, BoDog.com: This year, we could see a repeat of the 1993 World Series. This could be Philadelphia’s year. The Phillies have been close to success the last two seasons, finishing second in the NL East in 2005 and 2006. If they don’t start well, Charlie Manuel could be looking for work by mid-season. In the American league, the Blue Jays didn’t make the same big splash at free agent time they did last year, although they did add free-agent slugger, Frank Thomas, and, more importantly, locked up the phenomenal Vernon Wells. If their pitchers remains healthy, look for the Jays to be in contention for the AL crown come October.
